Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

Just a little update for me. Still been getting nightly reboots at 2am and then again at 2:05am. Last night it happened only once at 11am. So a slight improvement haha.

Hopefully SKY are working on it and will sort it out.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

I've just had a response from the Sky Support team advising they're aware of the Hub issue and they have implemented a fix for it this morning so that should sort it now.
I'm told it was an issue with the firmware update and the Hub not coming out of Maintenance Mode to complete the update.

Let's hope that resolves the issue, we'll know tomorrow morning.

hub update ruined hub stability

a couple of days ago my browser window got redirected to tell me my hub softwear or firmwear would be updated. cant remember which. but now i cant browse for any length of time without the hub dropping the wifi connection or just dropping the internet connection.

i had no such problems for a year before this past weekend.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

We can only hope its sorted by tonight, I expect it be will now that we know Sky have eyes on the issue. I spent a good number of years working at Sky closely with the networks and service teams and saw many similar widespread issues. It's all a matter of the right people knowing the issue exists, once it does it usually gets resolved pretty fast. With Sky growing as big as it has that first step of getting someone to notice is often the longest.

Hopefully we don't all meet again here tomorrow.. 🙂

Re: Why does my internet keep going off at 2am !!!

For reference, my router updated to version 7.04.0204.R already, hopefully that means I'm done now.

@user1905  Does it still try and update the router firmware at any time after this or was it a one time happening?

If someone has helped give them Like.

Re: Sky broadband router reboots overnight

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to chime in — I’m experiencing the exact same issue with Sky since the 25th of June. Like others have mentioned, the connection consistently drops around 2 AM, and it’s been seriously messing up my data collection workflows. I reached out to support on Friday and then today, and they’ve said they’ll be sending me a new router.

For reference, the firmware version on my current router is 7.04.0204.R.

One thing I do know: I’ll be wide awake tonight to monitor the issue and see if it happens again.

Cheers

Re: hub update ruined hub stability

no more messages about updates. just randomly dropping wifi connections. less common is dropping the internet connection, but its done that.
