Sky broadband offline for 5 hours today
I work at home and my sky broadband was offline for 5 hours today. Spoke to sky they blamed glass at my front door for being the cause> looking to see if i can get a credit on my sky account for the loss of service and a new broadband box

You won't get a credit for only 5 hours of outage. It has to be down 2+ days.

@napplewh You won't get any credit for the 5 hour downtime and be aware your working from home has no bearing on that, you would only be eligible for compensation(via the automatic compensation scheme) if the service is lost entirely and it isn't fixed after 2 full working days.
To request a new router you will have to call Sky.

I'd add that absolutely no domestic ISP either guarantees service without interruption or pays compensation for some hours of outage. If you want a more resilient connection then you should consider an ISP which offers automated router hardware failover to cellular data (at an additional subscription cost)
