Hello
My sky broadband has been dropping out at least one a day and also having issue with it hanging when just a few people in the house are logged in via Wi-Fi at the same time. I am used Wi-Fi for most devices if that helps

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Stxxx The stats show no apparent issues beyond a line drop 10 hours before. Isolated line drops will happen if there is a burst of noise on the line. Openreach will not accept a fault report from Sky until drops get into double figures per day as the automatic The Digital Line Management system should manage things by adjusting the noise margin upwards reducing speeds but improving stability. Your line is limited to 40Mb/s with a current noise margin of 4.1dB which is quite low but the line looks to be quite long so the occasional drop maybe something you have to live with.
Sky hubs are not the most powerful routers you can buy and will tend to become congested with multiple simultaneous users and there is no QOS system to prioritise say gaming traffic. You could consider buying a third party modem router most can be linked to Sky lines Netgear, TP-Link and Asus all have models thst work with Sky's slightly unusual log on method. However with only 40Mb/s available it is quite possible you may just have too many people trying to access the limited bandwidth.

Hi Chrisee
Thanks for having looked into that and for the very clear (and easy to understand to a non techie like me) explanation. I knew that we were distance from the telephone exchange which I knew would have a bearing but was hoping it was also something else that could be causing it but guess that's not the case.
Think I need to remember to be the first person on the wifi in our household in that case each morning 😉
I will see how it goes and if it continues to drop out then will need to look to get a 3rd party router as you suggested
Thanks again
