Sky broadband in new build

I have requested a home move and Sky has cancelled by broadband as the new propery does not have sky coverage.  However, I've seen the property has fibre installed by BT open reach.  When I check my neighbours address on Sky it shows broadband is available, but address shows no coverage.   I also rang customer service and they said they cannot provide sky, so bit puzzled.

Do I need to wait for BT to release the address to Sky after completion date (This week) and try signing up?

Thanks!

@massive627 talk to the developer as on occasion they sign deals with ISPs to give them exclusive rights for a few years in rerurn for a payment and some developers like Persimmons insist you use their capitive ISP for a period.

The developer said as it's with BT Open reach, I can get whichever provider uses their infrastructre.  The neighbour's are on Sky.

I called BT they also confirmed the installation is complete on their system and line is active.  So Sky should be able to provide broadband?

@massive627 Yes they should do but it has been observed that Sky can take a few weeks to pick up new builds presumably because they only update their database periodically.
