Hi,
Sky broadband is giving me issues with NowTV. Getting OVP_00012 error, telling me I'm not in Ireland and so can't watch content.
Any help would be so appreciated!

Can you check for me and see if the issue is now resolved? You may need to restart your device/router.

Try disconnecting the router for 45 minutes to hopefully bring you back onto a sky ireland ip address

Hi,
Many thanks for your quick reply.
I did think of that, so turned off router (and internet) off last night.
Still the same problem today!

Did you get a fix on this? I'm having the same error

Had the issue a few days ago and again now. NOW TV reports error:
This is due to NOW TV not seeing the IP address being located in Ireland, when it is. While some IP checkers do report the correct country, not all do, like for instance this one:
So depending on what service NOW TV uses for checking IP location, it will sometimes get an incorrect location and produce this errorr. I sincerely hope that the new NOW TV app, which was announced today, has a better mechanism for checking geo location.
How can this issue be overcome?

I'm getting the same issue. I've only just changed to Sky broadband so I think I will cancel the order and go back to Vodafone where I never came across such a stupid and avoidable IP issue from Sky.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@AMG3 this type of fault can hit any ISP who are growing as the world has run out of IP4 addresses and as result ISPs have to source additional addresses as and where they can so more customers can use their service. They update the various regiisters to reflect thecswitch but those changes take a few days to replicate to all of the systems that check locations. Gradually ISPs are adopting systems that share the IP4 addresses between several connections Sky do that in the UuK but not as yet in Ireland.
A forced reconnection by powering down for at least an hour usually works as the system should pick up a new address recognised as Irish.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Reinhard this has been reported a number of times and is an irritating issue the best solution is to disconnectvthe Sky hub from the line for an hour as tgat should force a change to the IP address Sky give you hopefully for one Now TV likes.
Howevercas Sky own Now their geo checking should be picking up the changes.

Thank you for making us aware of this problem, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
We've escalated this issue to our support teams and will update the thread when we have an update for you.
I've merged two threads together, so the posts might look out of sync.
Thank you, @Chrisee, for tagging me.

I believe the issue lies with the old/current NowTV app, which fails to correctly identify geo location. Given the switch to the new app is imminent, there's no point to investigate with the old app. I just hope the new app has a more robust and better way of identifying geo location.
