Hi,
In sky's advert for full fibre broadband (fttp) why does it say not available to customers without a mobile signal at home,what's one got to do with the other?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@will28 at a guess it is referring to the fact thst with FTTP the landline phone service is delivered through the Sky hub which has to have mains power to work and therefore cannot be used during a powercut to make an emergency call.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more'Not available' isn't strictly correct: because of the power issue that @Chrisee mentions above, Ofcom insists ISPs ask if a household has an alternative way of making calls before provisioning SOGEA broadband.
If a subscriber understands and is willing to accept this particular limitation of the technology, there's no technical reason installation cannot go ahead.
