We have sky broadband superfast (59mbps/16mbps). Pretty much every night the line disconnects, then we get frequent disconnects throughout the day, for example, today.
The line has disconnected completely, orange light on the sky box and no connection to Wireless or Ethernet. This has happened 5-6 times today.
I've tried changing DNS in the past to Google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) which actually made the line stable, but it's probably a placebo effect.
I've now purchased a DrayTek router, since I've used these in the past - can someone confirm if swapping the router has helped with line dropouts?
The Sky "broadband checker" shows that it's not detecting any issues, which is a complete lie.
My contract is ending next month, I don't particularly want to switch to a new provider, but since I work from home and rely on my internet, I don't have much choice.
Thanks!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Dave-0107If the broadband test is not showing any issues, the best thing to do is give Sky a call and they can do more in depth test to see if they can find the fault on the line.
