I recently received the new Max Router.
I can get fantastic WiFi speeds on occasion, however the speeds randomly drop to a few mb/s.
As a trial I ran a speed test on two iPhones. Side by side on the sofa. One was getting 320mb/s, the other 4.1mb/s. Both phones are WiFi 6 devices.
I have spoken with Sky and a pod is on its way. However, as it's not a signal
issue I am not convinced it will help.
Any thoughts?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@the.sutherllands I had exactly the same variations in speed with Wifi Max which with other issues has led me to reject the new system . In the end I had two pods which actually seemed to make stability worse as devices wouldnt switch from one to another.. Speeds were as a result totally unpredictable and to add insult to injury, my Sky Stream TV boxes fell off the network..
Yesterday I reinstalled my 3 Deco M4 wifi mesh units and a Sky SR203 hub with its wifi switched off. This system worked well and is again. It is not Wifi6 but overall I can once again access 500Mb/s my Ultrafast+ service delivers in my main living area, Sky's TV boxes remain connected and best of all it is stable.

After looking on the web interface, it would appear that the 5ghz network has changed itself back to the default Sky SSID. Causing all sorts of bother.
Updated SSID via MySky and it has updated both 2.4 and 5ghz to the same preferred SSID.
I wonder how long it will stick this time.
This is very much a beta product at this time.

Although the same hardware sold under the Plume brand itself gets good reviews: I do wonder if rebadging it for particular ISPs isn't entirely desirable.
