Sky Wi-Fi cutting out

Sky Wi-Fi inconsistent and cutting out repeatedly, cuts out every 2-5 minutes despite living in a 1 floor 2 bed small apartment, only get viable Wi-Fi if in the same room and even then cuts out repeatedly.

It's beyond a joke now and after reading about hundreds of people having similar issues on the forum, I am thinking about moving elsewhere to a different internet provider.

@dalton1998 the issue with small flats like yours is likely to be interference from neighbours' wifi networks. In practice while there are 13 wifi channels in the 2.4GHz band only 3 or at most 4 networks can use them and avoid interference you are likelybtombe in range of many more. The faster 5GHz band has less range so is less affected but in a small flats that is likely to also be affected.

You can download an app clalled WiFi.analyzer which works on an Android phone or windows laptop which shows all of the WiFi signals in range with their strength and channel you maybe lucky and becablecto manuallyvfind tge least congested you can use but thst can change in hours..By far tge best solution is to use Ethernet cables especially if trying to work on a laptop, game on a console or streaming video. I know it sounds old fashioned but it works.

Re: Sky Wi-Fi cutting out

That would make a slight amount of sense but I never had this issue with my previous provider BT and never had this issue with Sky for the first few weeks of our internet being installed either, this seems to be a problem that has only gotten worse now, but I will have a look at what you recommended and see if there's anything I can do on my end
