Sky Superfast. Signed up for 80/20 but stuck at 40/10

Hi All

Just moved to Sky Broadband Superfast (up to 67Mbps) from another provider where I was on the slower fibre FTTC (up to 35Mbps or whatever it is). Now that i am on the faster FTTC Fibre with Sky i believe i should be on the 80/20 profile and not the 40/10 profile that i currently seem to be on.

Here the results showing that 80/20 is possible at my address and having checked my Sky modem/router, I can see that i am connecting at 40/10 as well. I have rebooted the router a few times hoping it will re-connect at 80/20 but it hasnt.

What is the best way to get my profile changed to 80/20? Thank you

@YV_1 there is no obvious reason as going by the state you should get 80Mb/s or close to it but you are correct you have been provisioned on the 40/10 profile rather than the 80/20 profile. Sky do use the 40/10 profile where the database indicates a maximum speed or around 50 - 55Mb/s but your database entry indicates you should get higher than that

It is worth querying with Sky perhaps as part of a complaint see How to make a Sky complaint | Sky Help | Sky.com

@YV_1 post your hub's connection stats as those may well explain the reason see Sky Hub statistics

@YV_1 Have you had any issues before with speed delivered, or noisey line with your other ISP hub/router connected, can see why sky may have pushed you down on the 40/10 split due to the high noise margin on your stat's? Stability more than speed you will get with your profile!

Re: Sky Superfast. Signed up for 80/20 but stuck at 40/10

Nope, i always had and purchased 36Mbps fibre packages, i've never needed anything more so never paid for anything faster. On this occasion, Sky superfast (up to 67Mbps) was the same price as i was paying my previous ISP for my 36Mbps package so this is the first time i've ever purchased the 67Mbps package from a ISP.

I suspect nobody has actually looked at my VDSL profile and once they do, they will see my property is capable of up to 80/20. I had a  BT engineer come out to me a few weeks back for a totally unrelated issue and he mentioned my cabinet support 80/20 and that i could be moved to that if requested by by ISP.

Bear in mind i am new to Sky so it could just be they need a few days to make the changes but i doubt this is the case as i've recieved emails from Sky to advise my fibre is now active blah blah blah. Personally, had i not chased this up, i think this would have been left as is. It would be good to get 50Mbps+ in my house as at the moment it tops out around 36Mbps
