We had this problem and so I tidied up the cables (there were a lot!) and in the process I unplugged the aerial connections in the back of the sky box. When I put them back I noticed the copper pins in both had been bent over so I bent them back so they fitted into the tiny hole when I screwed them back on. I don't actually know if it was the pins, the tidying of the cables or both that did the trick but, since then, I've had no problems whatsoever.

My skyQ box lost connection to my non-Sky router after a power cut and although it would see the router it would not connect despite several resets. It eventually logged in after disconnecting the second mini box from the mains. Both boxes now working normally.

Hi, can anyone help?
My Sky q box will no longer connect to the Sky hub box, I have tried resetting multiple times on both boxes to no avail. Even going into setting up a manual input, it sees the network so inputted the password. Again it would not connect, password is correct.
Have tried all the helpful guides in sky help, but they have not helped.
Appreciate if anyone has some advice they can pass on.

Exact same issue with a new router. Tried all the guide suggestions with no luck. Funny how they don't even provide a number to call anymore... pretty rubbish and regret moving to sky broadband.

@OHJ Dial 150 from your Sky landline or Sky Mobile or 0333-759-1583 from any other phone, if you're in ROI, the number is 08-18-50-019-2.
When calling, ignore the message at the beginning and stay on the phone as long as you can. If the system sends a text message and asks you to hang up, don't.
If asked for the reason of the call, just say speak to advisor or cancel, nothing else. Finally you should be put in the queue for an advisor.

If your router has a dual band SSID disable 5 ghz or split them wifi_5ghz and wifi_2.4ghz Sky will connect to the 2.4 band only.
Once setup on 2.4 you can re-enable 5ghz wifi if disabled option used

Great advice, thanks very much. Will try this as soon as I can.

Having to always power off, reset, etc with what looks like poor reliability needs an MTBF and an MTTR, nice for analysis of Sky Q box to the router and that information is passed to robots for machine learning over the internet for QoE figures and improvements.
The answer is certainly right in some ways but little suspect when it occurs often 😎

So the issue still stands with my Sky Q box and now my Samsung QE5595T TV disconnects everytime it enters standby.
turns out I can't change settings on my router as I get "This site can't be reached" when trying to apply Setting changes. Unfortunately, I'm not on hand 24/7 to collate MTBF or MTTR statistics. Sky help is no help and don't have time or patience to get this fixed.

I'm having the same problem. Sky Q box won't connect to router. Have rebooted both numerous times, have returned the router to factory settings, have tried connecting with password instead of the button, no joy, password not recognised. How do I get this escalated please?

Choose the Sky broadband settingscwhich sets thecQ box into wps search mode then press the wps button until the led flashes. Alternstively findvthe wps button on the Sky Q box and press thst until the led starts flashing and then do thecsame in the hub. Either usually works see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/setting-up-sky-q-connect-to-sky-hub

I had the same issue. All devices in home could connect to the Sky Hub with the exception of my SkyQ box. Tried resetting and reconnecting. Nothing worked.
Then saw the post to change the related to the "Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings". This worked.
Steps
1) Log into your router: http://192.168.0.1/
2) Go to WiFi tab
3) Select the "5 GHz WiFi Settings", this is located just below the tabs near top of page
4) Change your SSID, "Name (SSID)". I just added 5 to the end of the current one
5) Un-check the "Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings" setting
6) Select Apply at the end of the screen
At this point your other devices that were previously connected to your wifi SSID will not connect. Read below, this will get sorted.
7) Go to Setting > Status > Network Connection
😎 Select "Network setup"
9) Press the wps on the Sky Hub
10) Success!!, took a few mins but connected
11) I then went back into the admin on the Hub and set enverything back to what it was, checked "Synchronise 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Settings" and removed the 5 from the end of the SSID. Selected Apply.
Now all devices can see the wifi SSID and for some reason the Sky Q box is still connected.
