Sky Q & Eero - Double NAT-ing

Hi,

I have Sky Q with 1 mini box, 500mbs broadband with the Sky Hub 4.2

Due to the WiFi being pretty poor throughout my house and not being able to use my PS Portal I purchased an Eero 6 kit.

Has anyone used this or could advise on the best way to set-up the Eero. The sole intention for the Eero mesh is for the PS Portal to work throughout the house.

Am I right in thinking double nat-ing is the best solution, so the Sky Q mesh doesn't need any fiddling with?

Hardwiring the Sky Q and mini box is not an option.

Appreciate any advice, I am a novice when it comes to broadband etc.

@Chrisa59 while connecting the eeroin a double NAT configuration is an option it maybe better to use them in a bridge/access point mode as explained here https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/207621056-How-do-I-set-up-my-eero-if-I-want-to-keep-my-ex... especially if you have devices using the Sky hub's WiFi although if these are only the Q boxes it is probably not an issue.

Your main concern though will be potetial interference between the two wifi systems. Sky. Q and your hub by default uses a ch 36 to ch48 as a 80MHz channel in the 5GHz band and each box uses a different channel in the 2.4GHz band but you cannot control which channels they choose. You can switch the hub to use half of the 5GHz band in its settings ie set it to use a 40MHz channel. Hopefully the eero is smart enough to adapt.
