Hi Guys,
Hope everyone is well!
Apologies in advance as I am aware that this has been discussed a million times!
So, cut a long story short - Can I replace my Sky router with the Deco S4 system?
My current set up consists of:
BT modem(?) --> Sky Q router --> Deco s4 ( AP ).
I am however trying to eliminate the Sky Q router alltogether and would prefer to run of the Deco's only so that I can take their full advantage without creating sky q tv issues ( freezing etc. )
I've read about the DHCP 61 option etc. but truth be told - this goes straight over my head and I've no idea what I am doing.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks 🙂

Sorry, can't find an edit button!
To clarify further, currently my SKY Q router is used for a wirless connection to the SKY Q tv boxes - which seem to be causing me lots of issues i.e freezing, losing connection etc.
All of my other devices are connected via the Deco's wifi.
The idea here is to eliminate the hub alltogether for the following reasons:
* Take advantage of the Deco's router features
* Stabilise the SKY tv which is driving me mad at the moment
Thanks 🙂

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe TP-Link deco series does not support the authentication type needed for Sky lines. So unless you can get it working via IPv6 Prefixdelegation which you'd need your local Cabinet & Exchange to support it your probably out of luck.

Thank you!
With this in mind, are there any ( Deco compatible ) routers that I can use instead of the Sky one?
If so, could I please be cheeky and ask for some "budget" suggestions please?

So getting another router to replace the Sky hub, then plugging the Deco into that will result in you not being able to use all the Deco Router features because its still going to be behind a router and not connected to the line directly.
You need to either use the Deco system in AP mode and sacrifice features or choose a different mesh system thats compatible with Sky's authentication system such as the Asus Ai Mesh.
