Sky Q Ethernet and mini box wifi
I want to connect sky Q by Ethernet and keep the mini box on WiFi, as this set up seems to work better in streaming at my place but at my parents house everything is on WiFi and can't seem to stream Disney + or Discovey, hoping that connecting the Q box by Ethernet will help my issue but need advice on hardwiring the Qbox and keeping the mini box connected by wifi.

Re: Sky Q Ethernet and mini box wifi
@Bob119 first point it sounds like you might be moving your Sky Q system from one address to another which if you were would be a breach of contract. So let us assume we are talking about 2 separate systems.😉
A lot depends on the layout of each home and what routers each home has and lastly whether you will be using UHD picture quality. If you have black Sky hub then you can use either ethernet or wifi it really doesnt matter but UHD requires up to say 30Mb/s for the apps while HD roughly 10Mb/s.
If you have any other router including the white Sky hub then only the main Q box can connect to it by wifi. Again you can use ethernet to any or all Q boxes but the Q minis have to be connected to the main Q box by wifi they cannot be connected to the router's wifi.

Re: Sky Q Ethernet and mini box wifi
Thankyou for your reply, yes two seperate addresses and both have the same black modem but 1 address has UHD , but at my address the Qbox 1tb is connected via Ethernet and I have no issues on Disney or discovery plus apps, but at my parents address everything was upgraded to 2 tb box and since then have problems on streaming both apps? driving me mad as my kids want to watch Disney. Have tried software updates and box reset but haven't tried the factory reset ? Hence thinking about connecting the Qbox by Ethernet cable .

Re: Sky Q Ethernet and mini box wifi
@Bob119 assuming you are watching apps via the main box then improving connectionby using wifi should help but it wont affect the apps on the minis as they stream directly.
