Sky Max router (White, SR213) dynamic dns
Hi
So i've just switched out my router for the new Sky Max Hub (white one, model SR213) but can't seem to find an option in the admin panel to set up dynamicDNS. I need this for work, it's a non-negotiable.
I called support, spoke to an agent. They said they could help, went on hold, then eventually hung up. Good start to my Sky Broadband experience.
Does anyone know how to set up Dynamic DNS on a Sky Max hub?
Many thanks!

I don't believe that's an option: realistically it's something only a tiny percentage of domestic ISP customers will want to do.
I don't think the current EE Hubs support DDNS either.

Glad i kept my BT router then, i'll just bung that back on.
Might be more of a common requirement than you think actually, considering the move towards remote / hybrid working. Unfortunately i'd assumed it would be provided, but never mind. Thanks for your reply 👍

I'd think very few roles require DDNS.

@Duncancosgrove the older black Sky hubs can support DDNS IIRC they support 3 services. It may be worth asking Sky to swap your SR213 hub 6 for a SR203 Hub4.2.
Alternatively you could use a third party router which offers the service Asus routersxwork well with Sky lines and i believe most support DDNS see https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1011725/

Re: Sky Max router (White, SR213) dynamic dns
Just to let you know my older sky hub black with the 3 lights on front did have DDNS I've used it for years, now all advanced settings are via Sky go app and it's missing, also cannot find it at all in sky max hub. I switched to sky max as my older sky black hub kept locking up and stopping forwarding DNS on its internal lan GW IP, so will call sky support tomorrow as I might swap out back to older black hub as I need DDNS for remote access to my internal DC.

Re: Sky Max router (White, SR213) dynamic dns
I have my business at home and my servers need that access as we don't have fixed IP addresses with most ISP's now, so for me very much needed

@eddie828 you are buying a domestic service from Sky if you need business quality router as sounds likely you need to either buy a business connection from an ISP offering those services. Alternatively you need or you can try using a third party router on your domestic services which will probably work Asus routers seem a safe choice.
The world has run out of IP4 addresses which is why fixed addresses are rare. Most serious businesses use hosting services for their servers.

Re: Sky Max router (White, SR213) dynamic dns
Totally understand the IP issue as I have been installing CGNAT solutions with ISP's for a good few years now. (A10 Networks)
also I have a solution now, Noip.com has an agent which can run on a PC or Mac inside your home network and refreshes and polls the IP changes. So I'm all good for now. Will look into a dedicated router at some point though. Thanks for replying.

@eddie828 Is it possible to give me a step by step how you done this ? I've just posted a question there very similar to what @Duncancosgrove originally posted. I need the DDNS capability. Thank you
