Sky Max/new router compatability with older wifi extenders
I've just received my Sky Max pack - new router, wifi extender pods etc. I note that the new extender pods plug directly into a socket ie no power lead. In my house, this is not ideal as most sockets are hidden behind furniture + I have ethernet hubs around the house...but they are not located ideally to connect an ethernet cable lnto the new wifi Pod which is plugged into a power socket. Before I set up.yhe new router and change passwords/connect all.my devices etc - Does anybody know if my old wifi extenders will continue to work with my new Sky Max router ? - because, due to the restrictions of having to plug the new wifi Pod extenders directly into a power socket, I don't think I will be able to use them. Note - I have a large Victorian house on 3 floors with solid walls and when I installed Sky Q 4 Trs ago, it took some.time and effort to get acceptable wifi all around the house - I don't want to upgrade to Sky Max and risk wifi coverage issues

Which 'extenders' are those? Sky Q and Sky Broadband boosters aren't supported by the Sky Max software stack.

When you say 'aren't supported' - do you mean they won't work or just aren't supported/recommended ? Is there a workaround ?

I believe they just won't make a connection with a Max Hub by using WPS, so are effectively useless.

Re: Sky Max/new router compatability with older wifi extenders
I was able to reset the booster and connect it to the Max hub by lowering the security level in the My Sky app (needed to do this to get the old wifi printer and other older devices connected etc.) Full green lights, but my system doesn't seem to perform as well as the old system.

@sirpauldavis With your 'does not seem to perform as well' you will need to expand with detail!

Re: Sky Max/new router compatability with older wifi extenders
I don't think that part needs too much expansion in terms of the thread about being able to connect to the booster, but overall the "upgrade" to the all new white Max hub from the older hub and the stability of the WiFi has been a poor experience. Devices drop off the network daily needing to be reconnected (Echo devices and smart plugs). Quite frustrating but I've only had it about a week. I'm contemplating switching back to the old hub as I haven't posted it off yet. The ability to swap channels in the old hub meant that I could force it into a clear space.
