Sky Max Pod will not connect to router

I have had Sky broadband for about a week, and we found the hub/router only gives signal in 2 rooms. I called Sky and they upgraded me (at a cost) and have sent me a booster pod. The pod will it connect. I have checked and the serial number is registered. I have tried moving it so it is literally 10cm from the hub. I've done the scan through the app. Nothing works. The pod has a blinking light and does not connect to the hub. I've tried resetting the hub. Has anyone else had this? Is it just a bad pod that needs replacing? If so how do I get one? Honestly, so far the service is very poor, very weak signal that only covers two rooms, I'm still within the grace period and wondering whether to exit for a better provider.

I managed to fix this about five minutes after I posted. Honestly just kept turning job and pod off and on again and eventually one combination worked.
