Sky Max Hub and sky q mini - connection lost
Hi all, just upgraded to the sky max hub and speeds are much better than I was getting on older sky broadband hub.
I connected up the sky q as described on website and all was working fine but overnight the connection to mini dropped and didn't come back.
is there a knack to keep the mini connected?
I connected the main sky box to router then via WPS connected the mini to the main q box.
im wondering if the standby mode on the boxes (Eco) is causing it as seems it lost connection at 2:30 am. Would changing standby mode fix the issue?

@Daveyboy1234 You can try eco will sure disconnect it but the mini just may not latch back onto the Main Q if it's struggling to get the wi-fi signal from it!

Re: Sky Max Hub and sky q mini - connection lost
I'm thinking if its the eco that's causing it as that's what it's currently on so wondering whether it's better to put on the other standby mode which doesn't go into deep sleep I don't think.
it seems like when it switched off it lost connection and still didn't come back on so a reset again of network is needed on the Mini to get it connected back to the main box.
assume I did the procedure right though for the mini? When it said I needed to push the WPS button, I did this on the main sky box and not the router, I believe this is correct.
not sure what else other than the standby mode that could ensure it doesn't lose connection completely?

Re: Sky Max Hub and sky q mini - connection lost
@Daveyboy1234 You did it correct, as soon as you went sky Max, you killed the old sky Q/mini/SR203 hub assistance for the old mesh, so unless you have an old SE210 booster lying around to help you, your mini just may be out off reach off the main sky Q sat box.
Catch 22 you are in Max not 100% compatable with Q and mini's so what you had before is now WAY different and as such has to be treated that way! Some info below.

Re: Sky Max Hub and sky q mini - connection lost
Thank you for confirming this for me.
on my old router I only had one mini and q connected as well (main q is in same room as router). So I don't think distance wise there would be any difference as no other devices in between etc (which I know on a mesh network would all talk to each other and bounce signal off etc) so doesn't matter that I don't have mesh network now as such as the same distance is still there if you see what I mean.
at least I've set it up fine. Will see if it stays connected now I've reset again today or if it goes off at night again. If it does will turn off the standby setting and fingers crossed that'll sort it.
