Hi all. I've been having fun and games with my Sky TV service freezing and/or dropping out. They've sent me a Sky Max extender, I assume to boost the signal to my Sky Max pod. The extender is set up and has succesfully connected to the hub. Question is: do I now need to connect the pod to the extender as it still appears to be connected directly to the hub, or is it connected automatically? Thanks

Thanks for clearing it up. A Sky Pod simply clones the same name, 'SSID', as your router so it is there providing a connection you just dont physically see it. If your pod is closer to your 'Puck' then its likely the puck is using that for a connection, rather than the router. I believe in the My Sky app under your broadband diagnostics there may be a diagram which shows what device is connected to which unit.

Re: Sky Max Booster: connecting to Sky Max Pod
I am confused on your message, what is a Sky extender? Can you post an image? A Sky Pod should be a WiFi extender which you pair with your Sky hub. Then your devices automatically connect to it when they need to

Re: Sky Max Booster: connecting to Sky Max Pod
Just to be clear, a Sky Broadband Max wireless booster is a 'pod' and a Sky Stream television box is a 'puck'.
And to be really confusing, Sky Max is a broadcast TV channel....

Re: Sky Max Booster: connecting to Sky Max Pod
Thanks, both. Better start again, then....
So. I had a puck and a router. The telly kept dropping out and or freezing, so your friendly neighbourhood Sky boffin sent me a replacement puck and a booster 'pod'.
I plugged in the pod (let's call this unit 'a') and it connected successfully (to the router, 'b'). I then installed my new puck 'c', connecting it via wi-fi, noting that the only connection available was to the router. So I have a connection from a to b and b to c, but no visible sign if a connection from a to c. I am of course assuming that the whole purpose if the pod is to boost the signal from the router, hence I'm further assuming there should be a "b-a-c" connection.
So my question is whether I have to connect the puck to the pod - this is sounding like something from Tolkein - as there is no visible sign of a connection other than puck to router.
I hope that made a bit more sense! Now I'm off to find Mordor....
