Sky Hub Max - What are the optimal settings for security?
Hello, recently I got the new Sky Hub Max. I would like to utilise its new features and improved web interface to optimise the security of my router as there are quite a few people that will be using this broadband, and not all of them are very savvy (myself included when it comes to home networking), could somebody please help me? I have a few questions.
Should I keep iPv6 enabed, if so should I alter any settings?
I've seen mixed answers about this online but most of them pertain to users who are not using Sky. By default ULA is enabled and the address assignment is Stateless.
How do I disable UPnP and Remote Management?
These are just two examples of settings that seemed to have been removed from the web interface? Am I missing something or are there less options on this router when comparing to previous generations?
Firewall security levels, which one should I select?
With the new hub there are 4 predetermined settings for the firewall, (Custom, Minimum, Typical, Maximum). Typical seems like a good middle ground as the "custom" isn't all that that customisable and Maximum seems excessive. Which is recommended for a large home network?
What is "advanced security" on the MySky App?
There isn't really any description besides "monitor real time threats", is it some kind of IDS notification system?
If there's anything else I'm missing please let me know, all help is greatly appreciated as per usual 🙂

Re: Sky Hub Max - What are the optimal settings for security?
Realistically a router can do almost nothing to protect users from their own actions.
Default settings should be optimal: UPnP and remote access are off by default.
Sky is extremely ambiguous about 'advanced security': it's allegedly a cloud service of some kind, but the Hub itself is definitely not a UTM device.

The press release said
Stay protected online with maximum security
WiFi Max offers advanced security, protecting every device connected to the network. From smart doorbells and cameras to your personal laptops and mobiles, everything is protected by the latest in artificial intelligence to detect and block threats. All connected devices are monitored in real time to alert customers to security threats as they happen via the MySky App. This is the UK’s most advanced network security from a major broadband provider.
