Sky Hub (8 years old) keep overheating and dropping signal

Hi!

I'm wondering if I can get some advice regarding our Sky Hub (router) please?

We've had our Sky Hub for over 8 years but over the last few months we're finding that it kicks laptops, phones etc off the WiFi. When we check the Hub it's hot and will work again after we've disconnected power for a few minutes and reset it.

We think it's just the age of the equipment, because it's worked fine for years until about 12 months ago and it's steadily getting worse, becoming too unreliable for us when we rely on it to work from home

As it's time to review our Broadband provider I'm wonder if Sky would send a new WiFi Hub if we took out another one of their deals?  (we're thinking of the Ultrafast deal). Since we've had the current Hub we've never needed to change it so I'm tempted to move to a different provider who provides free equipment as part of the set up otherwise.

Thanks,

An Ultrafast connection would be provisioned with either the Max Hub (2023) or Sky Broadband Hub (2019)

Thank you for replying TimmyBGood.

We're still having problems with our router with it cutting out completely for most of today.

Does anyone know if Sky automatically supply a new router if you upgrade? In the past I've upgraded our broadband but we've kept the same router.

I can't seem to get through to a person on the phone and the online help pages just take me round in a circle of clicking back to the same help pages.

Must admit I think it would've be easier to change provider at this rate.
