Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou don't need to pay it yourself as Sky will contact you sometime via email/letter to confirm when they are charging you as per this:

We’ll send you texts, emails or letters to remind you to return your equipment, if we haven’t got it back. And then, if we still don’t get the equipment back in the time frame given, you’ll get a letter or email confirming what you’ll be charged.

They have already emailed me asking me to return the router, but because I don't have it anymore and I closed my account, I want to pay the fee.
