Sky Hub 4.2 - Due for an upgrade?

We have just moved house and with the opportunity decided to throw in the Full Fibre Gigafast package. I am however unsure if my Hub 4.2 (black one) is the right one to use with this new package? Note I was on the Ultrafast package before the upgrade.

Should I ring Sky and request a new router to be sent out or will the current one suffice for both speed and coverage to get full advantage of the (near) gigabit speeds?

I've read up that a new WIFI 6 router is now available and was just wondering if I'd be eligible for that as part of the new package

@antonioo Choice is all yours, you were probably right to let the home move go as it was without not throwing any additional spanners in that one, but the SR203 Sky Broadband Hub although it is a wifi 5 device is a well capable hub and will give you close on the 600Mb/s wireless speed and full on the Ethernet IF all your devices can do so.

Moving to sky Max will be an update/upgrade to your current package price with addition off the addon should you need and require that.

There is a very good chance you will, as wi-fi 6 although superior in throughput speed wise, will drop back as distance off the wireless wi-fi signal, and if you are NOT wi-fi 6 devices for connecting it's all your choice. Also bare in mind going max for any off the other features that go with the package it is all APP based and very very restricted in the sky Max Hub control!

For an existing customer with a Sky Broadband Hub that typically requires the WiFi Max subscription supplement added to the account.

or one of the new ones 2500 mbps or the 5000 mbps

The Gigafast+ Hub is only supplied to Sky Broadband customers who are provisioned on CityFibre circuits.

"The Gigafast+ Hub is only supplied to Sky Broadband customers who are provisioned on CityFibre circuits."  @TimmyBGood Interesting,  is there a way to check if that is the case at my address at all? I'm fiding it a bit daft they supply new customers with the newer gen routers despite signing on with them for a further 24 months and more or less getting nothing...
