Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

We have recently switched to sky full fibre 100 and the connection seems much slower than the service we were getting before. The signal from the router is fine downstairs but drops out upstairs. Streaming platforms are buffering and teams calls drop out all the time. I WFH full time so this is really not acceptable. I have run the service checks and everything would seem to be running fine but it isn't. Can anybody suggest help?

@Lauren-nursey When you switched did you get a new hub, if so or not, how far did the hub move to accomidate the new position!

Re: Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

Hi, we were set up with a new sky max hub and the location didn't change-still in the lounge on a window sill away and not hidden away.

Thanks

Re: Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

@Lauren-nursey You could use the app and see what the wpa settings on the hub are, WPA2-PSK would probably be best for it, the hub gets a poor from everyone about the way it puts the Wi-Fi strength out, after that it is the £10/month addon to get pods to enhance the wireless signal!

If you still have the old black SR203 version that looked the same, you could also put that back!

Re: Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

Hi JimM1, thanks for the advice. I was going to change that setting earlier but then read that this changes the 'security' of the network to outsider hacking. I did have the black hub before, but have posted that back to Sky as per requirement.

So are you suggesting that without spending more money I actually now have a less useful setup than I previously had?

Re: Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

@Lauren-nursey Not saying it personally as i would not entertain the sky Max hub in the slightest, SR203 Black is fine, the Forum and user's have just so much complaints about the hub, lowering WPA2-PSK been around for years, GOT all my gear on it, have i think 3 devices that could go up to the WPA3- mode, Was the fruit company that started it all enough said about that. Turn it back, it's just the same if you need to go back up to it, just now you have zero to lose, 100% to gain!

Go search the internet and see for yourself. You can forget about being hacked on wireless at home!!!

Re: Sky Full Fibre 100 slow

I have now changed the settings as per your message and it hasn't made any difference with Teams calls today. I have tonight tried to check the streaming issues but now can't get the sky q box to reconnect to the router!

This is now getting beyond a joke, what service am I paying for?!
