Sky Fibre install how long?
Hi fellow Sky Fibres! I have an Openreach engineer booked in between 8am and 1pm tomorrow and I am an existing Sky Broadband customer. I have been sent a cable with a booklet and I am assuming this cable will be plugged into my existing set up? I have been told they drill a hole during installation, but how long does it normally take to do the installation please? Many thanks. Aitch.😎

Re: Sky Fibre install how long?
@Henry+the+eigth It can vary depending on if the Full Fibre is already installed from the duct/pole to a CSP outside the home, I would say anything up to 1 or 2 hours dependant on what work needs doing outside.

Re: Sky Fibre install how long?
@Henry+the+eigth Engineers are allocated 4hrs for the time window and NOT all off that time may be spent at the home side, so they may be at the exchange ensuring everything is good to go, getting all that is needed for your particular install etc, the danger point is the transfer time, Fibre is up you are good to go, come off the copper and cross everything that the sky Hub picks up connects, FW updates and reboots ready to go, hopefully the Engineer is there and assist's with your transfer at least off the hub, OR are good at stearing the right way, new ONT Power and Pon both solid Green, Lan will flash when the hub connects to it, NOT two solid Green then be carefull.
Landline phone 24-48hrs to change over if you are using, so don't be worried outgoing and incoming seperate system along with all the services, ie landlines, mobiles from all the different providers etc.... More than 48hrs time to be calling sky to get it looked at!
Hope it all goes smooth!👍
