Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

I also just had the internet drop again. I've managed to get it working again by disabling DHCPv6 and disabling the cloned MAC address. Lets see how long it lasts...

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

So woke up this morning all of my network working but no Internet connection. Checked on my UDMP and behold, No iP address. Have FTTP. All fitted around 9 months ago and working perfectly up until 2.10am 01/09/24

Followed all the steps suggested and turned off the ont for 30 mins. Still no Internet connection. Plug in the sky router and have Internet.

Any other suggestions please? Thanks Pete

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

@PeterJ2 - hopefully this will help as it did for me, if you go into your internet settings within the UDMP and disable IPv6, plug back into your UDMP you should get back up and running with little to no issue!

If you are still wanting IPv6 access, then check page 2 & @-rpnz-'s posts around access and how they can resolve that on Sky's side.

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

@KGx thank you for your response, it is very much appreciated. My IPv6 was already disabled from my original setup. I tried all options going. As a last resort yesterday evening I enabled IPv6 and it came back up with a new isp ip and has been stable since, I will monitor it closely.

Thanks again.

Pete

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Bumped into this eariler this morning, unfortunate timing as I was on a Zoom call.

After finding this thread and disabling DHCPv6 I'm back online a 94.3.x.x WAN IP. No DHCPv4 options set.

Given this is part of the broader CGNAT rollout, is this likely to just be a temporary fix?

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Thanks, only had Sky FTTH broadband installed a week ago & it suddenly stopped working with my Ubiquity Dream Machine today! Bleeding Nora but disabling IPv6 worked & I'm back on line. Can live with that but firmware patch to support MAP-T from Ubiquity would be awesome.

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Finding it a little odd that those have disabled IPv6 has brought connection back up and running, yet where I was disabled on IPv6 and by enabling IPv6 got myself back online. Most strange

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Hi all, unfortunately fell foul of this myself this morning - Grateful for the help on this thread. Will be following in case of further issues (hopefully not).

Had temporariliy added the sky router back in between the Modem and UDM to get the wife online for work before running out myself!

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Thanks everyone for this thread and especially @-rpnz- for the answer. This hit my connection today--IPv6 working fine but with a CGNAT IPv4 address assigned without working IPv4 connectivity. After finding this thread & disabling IPv6, everything's working again.

And a hearty curse to Unifi for a) sending the MAP-T DHCPv6 options without actually supporting MAP-T and b) not fixing this for over 10 years!

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Just been hit by this too, thanks all who helped resolve.

There's a new bug report on unifis' site here asking them again to sort it out

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

+1 for this issue which happened to me today; thankfully not my wife nor I were working from home today. Reading all the thread on my way back home; thanks to all that have already troubleshooted this and will make my life easier when I get home.

And I got hit at 0130 this morning by this.  Very frustrating.

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

Another one here - - problem started at 01:40 this morning.

After a lot of faffing about, restored service by disabling IPv6, but not ideal.

Re: Sky Fibre & Unifi Dream Machine

I might be wrong, as I didn't capture a packet before, but Release Candidate (Network 8.6.9) I can't see option 95 in the DHCPv6 request i wiresharked

I could be missing it as i didn't capture a before so not sure what I'm looking for, but what I _think_ was the list  list of DHCP options i couldn't see 95.

Hopefully @-rpnz- 's life gets a bit easier soon.
