Sky Fibre, WiFi max and Sky Q

Hi, looking for some advice - previous set up was sky Q, with 2 mini boxes, all connected via wired ethernet to sky broadband superfast (I think?). Router was sky broadband hub. The 2 minis seemed to act as WiFi hotshots or extenders (mesh?) for a solid WiFi signal throughout the house. Just upgraded to fibre with WiFi max, and the new white max hub, at which point we lost WiFi in parts of the house, guessing those areas previously served by the Q minis (they are still using a wired ethernet connection)....no mesh? I since enabled the "minis as hotspots" on the main Q box, which has somewhat restored the WiFi signal, but its still a bit patchy. So, I think the options are: 1. Persist with the max hub, and get the pod extenders? 2. Revert to the broadband hub so the Q mesh works...but will this work with fibre? 3rd option....? Thanks in advance!

Re: Sky Fibre, WiFi max and Sky Q

@ElGoco If you still have your sky Broadband Hub the SR203 then get it connected back on to the ONT asap. Yes the hub works fine on fibre and is fully compatible with the sky Q and the 2 mini's so you will be back to operation as before. Hopefully the new ONT and Hub position still covers the wi-fi all working as before! Connection is exact same as the max, same port 4 wan connection!

The sky Max works completely different to the SR203 and therefore cannot create the same mesh arrangement!

Thanks for the reply - so would using the older SR203 be better than using the newer router with the WiFi pods?

Re: Sky Fibre, WiFi max and Sky Q

@ElGoco Choice is all yours with what to do and your needs for the wifi, stay with max you will no doubt require the additional pods to get your wireless wi-fi back about, un hotspot your mini's which is fine as you have them Ethernet connected, and use the Max and pods to get your wireless wi-fi about and where you need it. Just be sure that the sky Q and minis are all ethernet connected together for smooth operation! You may need to possibly have a switch down at your hub just depends on how many ports you are using.

You have to get the pods off sky, they are all tied to the max and your account so have to all be done and controlled with sky, you also have to call to do ALL the sky max pod addon etc there is no other way, and more than one then it's an Engineer visit to do that all!
