@Floydianslip according to the Sky pres release https://www.skygroup.sky/en-gb/article/sky-and-cityfibre-sign-partnership-to-bring-sky-full-fibre-br... the service wont launch until sometime in 2025 so far too early to know products or prices. Personally I wouldn't expect equivelant products will be cheaper but until Sky annouce prices your guess is as good as mine.

As far as I know you are asking  about two different  broadband  providers,  run an on line check to find out what speeds  are available  in your  area,  bit they both offer  fttp, sky use open reach  for there's  city fibre  I believe  install their own  infrastructure, don't  thing they will be combining

@peter-marlow+1966 the announcement is Sky will be using both Openreach and City Fibre networks to deliver broadband from 2025 in much the same way Talk Talk and other isps already do. City Fibre sell wholesale access to ISPs in the same way as Openreach. 

The details are just what is in the press release but where a customer has City Fibre passing their home they will be able to order Ultrafast full fibre broadband using that network rather than say a slower Superfast service over Openreach copper network. City Fibre already pass 3.8million homes and are planning to pass many more including 1.3million as part of a government Project Gigabit which will be addresses judged to expensive to be part of the commercial fibre roll out.

Potentially the City Fibre network offers symmetrical speeds and speeds well over 1Gb/s if Sky want to offer those.

Sky and TalkTalk today announce that they have joined forces with CityFibre to create a new company that will deliver ultra-fast broadband services in the City of York. The new joint venture company plans to build a state of the art, city-wide, pure fibre-to-the-premise (FTTP) network to deliver broadband speeds of 1 Gigabit (1000 Mbps) direct to tens of thousands of homes and businesses in York, offering customers better quality and value.

The new network will leverage CityFibre’s existing metro fibre infrastructure in the City. Once the ultra-fast network is in place, Sky and TalkTalk will retail competing broadband services over the new infrastructure, with the first York customers expected to be connected in 2015.

@Blueboy9 that is a blast from the past as IIRC that annoucement was made around 2014. The York roll out was an experiment that went no where as Sky decided investing in networks wasn't going to be their thing.. For customers it was a mess which finally ended a  couple of years ago after the service had limped on with virtually no support from Sky for years..

As @Chrisee indicates, that's text from a press release dated April  15th 2014 for the project known as UFO which has long been and gone.  It's entirely unrelated to the news today.

I have just  checked  their website  and the only mention of sky is  if you  want to switch  from them  to city fibre or BT. or any other  Internet provider  to city fibre

LOL, I was a SKY UFO customer for nearly 7 years before SKY dropped City Fibre like a hot potato in October 2022 leaving myself and many other customers in a pickle as BT infra structure in York is appauling at best, SKY tried to convince me that going from 1GB connection to 25MB at double the price was a good thing, and now they are repartnering with them! You couldn't make it up....
