Sky Continues Virgin Broadband When Moving to Sky?

I had a long chat with sky sales about switching from Virgin to Sky (who was amazingly helpful!) where I was told that during the crossover period of getting my Sky fibre installed that Sky will effectively take over the Virgin broadband connection meaning I will not be without broadband.

NOTE: The earliest I can get a fibre installation date in my area is 2 months away hence my concern on this.

I just wanted to double check this is the case as I always considered Virgin a completely independent network (i.e. not using BT equipment) so can Sky really take over a Virgin connection during this 2 month interim period?

thanks for your help!

thanks for your help!

Re: Sky Continues Virgin Broadband When Moving to Sky?

Thanks for the info!

Have I made a mistake by cancelling my Virgin TV/Broadband? (It ends 20th May)

Should I tell Virgin I want to stop the cancellation so that Sky can organise cancellation to align with the fibre install which won't be unltil some time in June?

thanks again!

@S2kUK  Ideally you shoudl let Sky handle the switch of broadband, you would still need to cancel the VM TV service as no other provider can do that.

Yes: you don't want Virgin to unilaterally cancel the broadband, because that trumps the One-touch-switch process.
