Sky Broadband activation date 20+ days

I ordered Sky Broadband on 07/04/25, I've been given an activation date of 05/05/25

This is 28 days for activation, is this normal?

I know there are delays due to availability, but I find it hard to believe that there is no availability for almost a month 

The activation is remote

Does anyone have any ideas why this is the case?

If the activation was remote it would be 12 days to activation

What speed were you told you would get.?

I was told 61Mbs

You should get 80Mbps with a guarantee of over 60Mbps and there is nothing indicating why it would take so long

Unfortunately nothing you can do apart from keeping in contact with sky

Just speculating if in checking your line prompted them to quote 61 Mbps they may have wanted to request an engineer to make sure you were able to get more than your guarantee but still shouldn't take 4 weeks

@cookiemonsteruk Spoke to sky, they advised that this is the only space open reach have 

Couldn't get a straight answer as to why they'd listed me as remote activation if wasn't 

Was told the 10-14 days for activation policy has now changed, they let me know I could pay for expedited service if I didn't want to wait till May

I'd observe that three bank holidays falling in the space of two weeks does inevitably have an impact on waiting time, added on to personnel shortages during the Easter school vacation.
