and this morning it is still not working, all alexa devices not connecting, www.ring.com goes nowhere
27 Apr 2023 07:57 AM
I noticed the same thing. My initial suspicion was DNS but that all fine. Next steps were routing, again that's all perfectly fine given traffic on 80 is fine too.
IMO this is pointing at being more of a Ring issue than a Sky one. Traffic is flowing from Sky to Ring/Amazon/AWS yet depending on the type of traffic is suddenly being dropped.
My workaround has been to move all Ring devices to a separate VLAN which then sends the traffic down a VPN tunnel. Not really practical for many people.

All working this morning.

I'm not sure that I agree with it being Ring's fault, as this issue is affecting more than Ring.com. Other web sites / services are also not available via Sky and NOW broadband, but work fine from other network access providers.
My connectivity to the known affected sites (www.ring.com, www.seafight.com, www.inoreader.com) is still not working from Sky broadband this morning.
27 Apr 2023 08:34 AM
Further to this, it's interesting to note that two of the web sites that are known not to work from Sky broadband are taking the same network route (see traceroutes below).
This looks like it could be a network peering / routing issue between Sky and Arelion/Twelve99/AS1299.

Since this sounds like it could be a network routing issue, the common factor as to whether you are affected may be which external IPv4 IP address you have been allocated by Sky. Mine is 94.0.245.x. Can those affected please post their public IP and we'll see if there is any commonality.
If you don't know where to look on your router you can use www.whatsmyip.com.

Stumbled across this thread and glad to know its not just me!
3 x Echo Dot and 1 x Sonos One not connecting to Alexa services
Using standard Sky Hub.
Restarted the router a couple of times yesterday and again this morning. Also tried running through set up of the Echo devices.

Rebooted ONT and router this morning. Still can't connect to ring and certain other sites. This is day 2 of issues.
Router: Orbi (no Sky equipment)
IP: 94.5.215.X
Test Sites (all timing out):

Hope sky gets a fix soon.

I have a ring door bell, 1 Show 8, 1 show 5 and 5 echo dotts all affected. Interstingly my old Alexa mk 1 works. This is the tall first produced one.
Also, they all went off line yesterday early in the morning before I got up. Came back on last night around midnight and are off again this morning.
IP 94.4.253.xxx
No point talking to Sky as you never get more than a "switch it off and on again" level or support. Pretty certain it needs to be third line as already sugested.
Hmmm

This could just be a coincidence, but so far all the public (external) IP addresses of the affected customers quoted in this thread have been from the same network block:
inetnum: 94.4.0.0 - 94.7.255.255
route: 94.0.0.0/12
descr: Sky Broadband
origin: AS5607

Same issues here on quite a few websites. Definitely only our Sky connection, all works fine on phone data.
27 Apr 2023 09:21 AM
Mine is 94.9.97.xxx for what it's worth
27 Apr 2023 09:24 AM
Having similar issues,
Internet is useable, been able to access every site I normally use.
Unable to access my Epic games store account on PC.
Parents can't access their hayday game on iPad and Alexa can't connect to the internet.
I'm sure I'll find other issues as the week goes on.

Going to make a coffee and then brave a call to support. Figure that I need a record of attempts to contact them for compensation claims.
