Sky Broadband Hub SR203 is not compatible with new iPhone 17 range
I have had a nightmare trying to fix an issue with my iPhone 17 Pro Max slow wifi problem. My previous iPhone never had this problem with this router and neither does my other Android phone.
Long story short. New iphone would have normal wifi speeds (in my case around 450 Mb) but after a few hours/days it would drop to a super slow 20 Mb. Took forever to do anything on the phone. We also have a new iphone 17 Air. Exact same problem. Only a phone reboot would temporarily fix it. But the problem always but randomly came back.
Wasted hours talking to Apple. Reinstalling and resetting the phone. Nothing worked. I was about to return the phone for a refund.
Then I thought it might be the rubbish Sky router. Changed it to a Flint 2 router. Problem solved. Wi fi speed is now 850 Mb all the time.
Perhaps an Apple firmware update will solve the problem, but this is unlikely for such an old router that Sky uses. I also noted that Sky will stop issuing any new updates for the sky hub on 31 December.
So, for anyone else out there with the new iphone and with Sky's useless hub router experiencing the slow downs. Now you know the cause.

@Kameron Think you have it the wrong way, the Apple 17 phone is the problem as it lacks a compatible mode to work with an older 2019 designed sky Hub! And that phone is having loads off issues with other devices as well, so you have apple to thank no one else!

@JimM1 Yes, Apple are to blame but I still stand by my remarks about the sky hub being useless. The wifi range is abysmal. Only fast in the same room as the router. Move to an adjacent room (not thick walls) and the speed drops by 80%. The Max hub was also not much better (faster yes, but same range as others have said).
I wouldnt have bothered changing the router if this iphone debacle hadnt happened. But, now that I have. The difference is light and day.

For the ER110/115 Q Hub, yes. That's a decade-old device which no longer meets UK security regulations for ISP routers and cannot support voice telephony after PSTN switch-off in January 2027, so Sky is trying to swap them all out: ending updates is intended to incentivise customers to cooperate with this.
The 2013 Sky Hub is a venerable antique running an obsolete WiFi specification and really shouldn't still be in use at all
The 2019 Sky Broadband Hub will be in service and receive updates for the foreseeable future.

@Kameron That is the same for any third party router, so as for your flint 2 it just cannot be compared to any ISP hub/router, it probably has 10 times the processing power and speed, it's like comparing a ferrari to a lada!
Asus XT8 speeds internal not an issue but your never going to get that over the Internet no matter how hard you try!
