Sky Broadband Delays

I joined Sky at the end of June and my full fibre installation has now been delayed three times, currently pushed to 10th November. Updates have mostly come by text with no explanation.

In the meantime, I’m still paying £120 a month to keep my Virgin broadband running. I’ve tried to get that reduced but had no luck.

Ironically, my Sky TV is working fine, but it’s running off my Virgin broadband service.

Communication with Sky has been quite limited, and when I escalated it, I was even told I wasn’t a customer and that I shouldn’t have received a Sky Max box (which I was holding at the time).

Sky say compensation can only be worked out after the service finally goes live, and they won’t confirm yet if the Virgin costs will be taken into account.

Has anyone dealt with this before?
Is there anything else I should be doing now, or asking Sky/Openreach for?

Any advice would be appreciated.

@Jacqui-jac Why is your VM Broadband only so high cost wise? Do you have VM TV that you have not cancelled, the Broadband from sky will only take effect once OR manage to cable up your home, but you should be able to see the broadband as an order in your account settings!

Re: Sky Broadband Delays

The Virgin package was for Tv and broaband, once out of contract the price went up.

The order is showing in my orders page but that date has changed 3 times now (maybe even 4) - each time with just an SMS saying a new date, no explanation at all.

Re: Sky Broadband Delays

@Jacqui-jac Why have you not cancelled the VM TV, that is nothing to do with sky TV, like VM broadband is seperate! to TV.

Sky OTS service swaps the Broadband over but has nothing to do with VM TV!

Think the VM TV if like sky is a 30 day notice period, so cancel the VM TV now and get that rolling along!

Note that the compensation is a fixed daily rate, and won't have any additional allowance for ongoing fees from an existing supplier.
