Hi , I got my broadband installed, the 500 I went with. The engineer had to use an old Sky modem I had in the attic though because Sky forgot to send me the modem after an 8 week wait. Anyway it's up and running and on WiFi speed tests with my phone it's brilliant in some room hitting 200-400 and in other areas like by my front door struggling to get to 30. Average in the bedrooms 70 and up. It varys but I'd like to get a booster and someone also mentioned a mesh system with maybe 4-6 units around the house(it is a old house completely renovated) so solid walls and very good insulation. Does Sky provide a booster ? Has anyone got a link to a good mesh system on Amazon that's around €80-150 if there are good ones in that category. Also will it make much off a difference if I change my package to 1GB ultrafast wifi(I didn't think it would) Sky got my complaint from ComReg Ireland the formal one and after 8 weeks off waiting within 4 days suddenly all the work outside the house was done and we were installed on Friday after ComReg took control off the complain and contacted Sky. It's funny how fast they could do it once the formal complaint reached that stage and then only for me being lucky I had an old modem from previous address years old I still wouldn't have broadband but thankfully I do. Any advice or help with a link be appreciated thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThose speeds are pretty normal for WiFi around the house on a Sky hub. Sky do have boosters but will only send them if you have the Broadband boost or WiFi max addons & your speed is less than 25mbps in a room.
As for 3rd party mesh solutions, many will do the same job its personal preference on features really.

Sky sent a booster no problem probably because off the 2 months waiting on the broadband Sky added credits and sent out the booster free and a technician to move the Q box so once set up they did help with credits, same as England, it arrived today, my modem in in the back room downstairs on top off the fridge so I'm thinking off putting the modem the hall by the front door as that's the spot it's very low, all the bedrooms are ok
