Hi all,
As the title says I have a huge thermostat and a hive hub. Since getting my sky fibre installed I just cannot get the hive hub to connect. There is a single solid green light. Everything else in the house is working perfectly including, alexa's, blink doorbell etc.
I have tried restarting everything (millions of times), new Ethernet cable, resetting the router, disabling sky shield - I have also contacted Hive who said the following:
"your internet router has ports blocked on which does not allow the hive to connect - contact your ISP to unlock the following ports
UDP port 123 (NTP)
TCP port 443 (HTTPS)
TCP 5671 (AMQPS)
can anyone help!?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Becky363 You may have to split your Wi-Fi so that the Hive Hub can see the Wi-Fi, use the link below to enable you to do this.

I have already done this to get my smart lightbulb to work. However I can't see anyway to ask the hive hub to use a particular band, it is connected to the sky hub via an Ethernet cable
Thanks for the suggestions so far

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Becky363 you do not need to make any changes to your Sky hub to connect the Hive hub. I have Hive myself and my hub has connected to my various Sky hubs without issue but it can take several hours to do so. I found it should be connected directly to the Sky hub not via a switch. The Hive Hub has 10Mb/s ethernet port but that doesn't matter to the Sky hub but use a fully wired Ethernet cable with all 8 cores used,.
When Infirst got my system Hive support were totally useless recommending all sorts of useless suggestions in the end. However I found that leaving the hub connected overnight sorted the priblem probably because it needed to update. It doesnt require any firewall ports forwading etc etc.

Thank you -
when you say 'directly to the sky hub not via a switch' - I just have it plugged via Ethernet cable directly from the hive hub straight into a port at the back of the router.
I have left it connected for weeks! No luck. It just will not connect..

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Becky363 change the cable and disconnect the power on both units so they reboot. As I say my Hive works in thst config without issue.

I've tried three different Ethernet cables and rebooted both lots of times.
Thank you for sharing and your suggestions though x

According to Hive, you now have to open and port forward the following ports.
The ports a Hive Hub requires are:
UDP port 123 (NTP)
TCP port 443 (HTTPS)
TCP port 5671 (AMQPS)

Thanks for this.
Actually got it working with the second reboot. Weird.

You may need to ask sky to split your supply so you can connect to the 2.4ghz as I had this problem with another blink application. Only thing is now Sky is saying that hive causes the rotor to fail as mine has failed today so now I can't connect my Hive to the new fibre system which is ridiculous

Hi, can I ask what version of hive you have? Mine will not connect to new sky max hub router, worked fine with the old one. I have the 1st version of hive. They sent me out a new hive hub and it still doesn't work just flashes green. Sky couldn't help they said its probably because the new security on router. I have changed shield and set to wap2 still no luck. I wondering if I need to pay out for a new model of hive.
