Since splitting my wifi i cant get my thermostat and natching app to sync

I was advised to split my wifi and spent over an hour with sky changing it all. Since then my thermostat says it's connected but my phone app can't locate it. Any advice

@SH87

When checking whether the thermostat is connected to the smartphone and you have split the wireless bands by identifier, called the SSID you need to connect to the 2.4Ghz wireless identifier SSID on the smartphone and not the 5Ghz one or it will confuse the app.

When connecting to the 2.4 GHz wireless band on the smartphone. you should be able to set up the thermostat and once that is done you can return the smartphone to any wireless band you like to use in normal daily use.

@SH87 with many apps the phone running the app has to be on the same WiFi network so if your phone is on the faster 5GHz signal the app cannot "see" the thermostat on the 2.4GHz signal itvsounds like a poorly coded solution. You can try recombining the two bands but keep the SSID the thermostat is using as oddly most units once networked once  stay connected when the dualband is used.

Alternatively connect you phone to the 2.4GHz band signal which will probably be slower but you should be able to control your heating.
