Once connected the broadband speed is fine. However if I drop the connection from any of our laptops it can take hours to re-establish internet access. On my Mac it may be 15-30 mins. On my Windows (work) laptop it can take 4-8 HOURS!
I can ping the router (UDP) ok but cant seem to get TCP traffic; the router HTML interface won't even resolve correctly.
In the meantime all other devices are working away merrily.
The router admin interface is brutal, very little info or diagnostics available

Find out moreCant see a 3350 only an S350, either way if its a managed switch with its own IP range & many IoT devices connected it to it then its likely to cause problems as the Sky hub does not play nice with managed switches, only unmanaged ones. Additionally the Sky hub tends to struggle when you get past about 30-40 devices so perhaps you are hitting that limit with all the smart devices.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHow many devices are connected to the hub?
Do you have Sky Q? If so how many nodes?
Do you have boosters?

Hi James, thanks for responding.
I don't have SkyQ or boosters.
3 devices directly connected (including the work laptop) -
I've also got a Smart Hub with multiple other downstream devices, TV, HiFI, music streaming device, etc.
I've connected the laptop via wifi, direct ethernet, and ethernet via the hub. Once it has established connectivity it will run fine, but if I reboot - the connection lag kicks in

Chapeau!
That did indeed fix it.(anooyed that I didn;t think of trying that.
But not sure why - it's the same configuration I've used with my previous provider/router; and plugging the hub back in did not drop the connection. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul.

Correct again, I was reading it upside down under my desk - it is an S350. Now I need to see if I can dumb it down - prob should have just got a dumb switch. Thanks for your help

I've always struggled with the Netgear GS range: they seem to be just smart enough to cause trouble.
