SR203 has reduced my sync speed

Hi all,

had issues with my line and Openreach came out today and resolved the issue. However I have noticed that my SR203 router has reduced my sync speed by over 5mb from the old ER110. When I replace the ER110 the speed is back up to 48.5meg.  Any rational explanation as to why the newer SR203 is slower than the ER110 ??

Thanks

The VDSL2 chipset in the SR203 isn't quite as good as the ER110 chipset, unfortunately. If you are below your minimum guarantee speed (MGS) then you can report a speed issue to Sky but looking at the router stats this seems unlikely.

Re: SR203 has reduced my sync speed

Thanks @mae-3

I am below my MGS of 50Meg, but always have been.  I can't wait for full FTTP and then get an improvement.  Really appreciate the explanation between the 2 routers, so at least I understand

If they cannot improve the speed above MGS then I'd push for a discount. 😉
