Reporting internet fault without account details

Hi,

I'm trying to help my older neighbour with his phone/internet.

The landline plugs into the hub, so the phone only works when the internet is connected. But the internet connection is very unstable, on for an hour or two and then off for the rest of the day. So he can't use his landline most of the time.

He doesn't have a smartphone, so can't fault report on the app.

I tried phoning broadband service on my mobile, but we were kicked out by the robot at the security questions because he didn't know the last 2 digits of his bank account.

So we're stuck.

He can't seem to find any of his papers, so doesn't have the security info to get into the account. And can't talk to someone without them to report the fault.

Any advice on how to get the fault reported?

I guess I can't use the fault report in the app on my smartphone, because I couldn't connect the app to his account anyway?

Our only idea is to try phoning on the landline if the internet comes back on. But without the security questions, will they talk to him anyway?

Or can they post a security code to his house that we could phone up with?

Any ideas gratefully received!

Mark

@Mark578 The landline call from HIS internet phone is the best, but HE will have to speak and get through security no matter what, if that cannot happen you are going no where fast, once through he can give you permission to speak on his behalf via the sky CS advisor, it is the way to do it....

Thanks Jim,

I'll tell him.

Surely he must have his bank account number somewhere? 🙏
