Hi
I am currently on the ultrafast 500 fibre deal. Worst decision I ever made my wifi has been a disaster since. Openreach speeds fine but from router via wifi has my heart broken. BT may have had slower speeds but at least you got them.
so now that my moans are over I have also sky q and mini boxes. I have tp extenders about the house as I have battled with my wifi.
Now I feel with so long left in my contract I need to just change the router but have realised I have become a network dummy.
So what router would you recommend? I see people making mistakes all the time here with the wrong router to start with. I am mostly wifi in the house.
any solution needs to be dummy proof but also needs to allow my sky q to work.

The advantage of the asus rt ax wifi 6 routers are you can completely replace the sky sr203 or set them up as access points if its just the wifi you need to improve

Thanks as that's a major plus to start with. Should cut down on complexity

Yep , the wifi 6 is powerful whether you use them as an access point or as a router

So sick of the sky router I would rather shed it completely. I have read multiple different versions s of the truth regarding the q mini devices. One at least would have to remain Wi-Fi only but my main box is hard wired.
Is there an idiots guide to setting up the asus router.

Ok this is breaking my heart already. Setup via the app. Basic setup done however I can’t seem to get what everyone else has as in option 61. When I go into WAN connection i set WAN connection type to DHCP. This brings up WAN IP and Wan settings.
I have no where to go.

Would advise you use the web interface 192.168.×.× and ensure auto ip is selected this should bring up client identifier (option 61) and enter
anything@skydsl|anything

Also using your sky hub ethernet the asus to it and update the firmware. So asus routers need current firmware to display option 61. Then remove the sky hub and ethernet asus to the ont
