Renovating house and can't find master socket

I've just bought a house, that is being fully renovated and has been rented out the past 15 years. The electrician is doing first fixing of the electrics and he can't find a master socket. There are some old phone cables but they don't lead to any visible socket.  I  can't say for sure the tenants had broadband, if they did I don't know who their supplier would be

Would I need to organise a someone from Sky or Openreach to visit first?

You need to place an order for broadband with an ISP: Openreach doesn't accept orders directly.

If the property is in an area where FTTP is available a master socket isn't relevant anyway.

Thanks for your quick reply.   As there is no master socket insider and the electrician has found some form BT power supply externally but he needs to investigate if it is a suitable for a phone line and if it has a current.  If it doesn't what should I do?

@Lori7 Use the BTW site, input the address selection and it will tell you all about what is available.

BT Broadband

@Lori7

That's not a job for an electrician: they shouldn't be touching Openreach infrastructure.

The first thing to do, as @JimM1 indicates, is finding out if a master socket is relevant at all by using the BT Wholesale lookup.
