We recently moved to Sky Full Fibre Gigafast 1GBit from our old 500Mbit package - we still have the black Sky Hub 4.2 - signal to some of our further rooms is flaky, and we can't move the hub any more central than we already have.
I'm marginally assuming the newer WiFi 7 Hub will be improved over what is now a relatively old existing Hub.
Would Sky likely allow us to change to or buy the new Hub if I call?
Or are there purchasable boosters available from them directly? I can't work out which are compatible with our Hub, given many are available I assume 'off the record' from Amazon etc.

The wifi 7 is sent out to customers on the fastest tiers of the new partnership with city fibre. However you should have received the sky max hub wifi 6. We were made aware of stock shortage of the sky max hub so unfortunately all you can do is call sky

@nrynryuk And the Sky Broadband Booster is the one to go with the Sky Broadband Hub, model is the SE210 should you wish to go get one, but not from sky as they won't sell you one! Links will show you!

As @cookiemonsteruk indicates, the most recent Hub is currently specific to the 2.5Gbs and 5Gbs Sky Broadband service provided over CityFibre infrastructure: it's not available to the vast majority of users, who are on the national Openreach network.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Thanks everyone, is the Hub 6 any better overall for range than the 4.2 version we have now?

Re: Recently upgraded to Sky Full Fibre Gigafast - how to get new WiFi 7 Router
Not exactly an answer so much as an alternative approach......
Our bungalow had two rooms at the back which were total blackspots (since the internet comes into the front of the building) and so I went down the path of configuring an old router I had as a wifi hotspot and placed it in one of the back rooms. Whilst this did give better coverage, if you moved from room to room with a device you often needed to disconnect / connect from the network to get the nearest router to work for you and devices sometimes dropped wifi altogether and needed to be manually re-connected. Eventually I gave up and invested in Amazon Eeros and now have 4 giving the bungalow full un-interupted mesh coverage and no messing about.
Not a cheap solution ( I think I got a deal on a three pack and purchased an extras single to wire up my Sky Q box at a cost of around £200) but in the 2 years we have had them I have had absolutely no issues.
We have only moved from TalkTalk to Sky today but the Eeros were easily re-configured and working fine using the old SSID so no need to re-connect all the devices that need wifi - a definite time saver !
Only problem I have is with the Sky Broadband Hub router that I cant stop it transmitting its wifi network even though I have disabled it in the settings and the wifi light is off - but thats another story....
Good luck whatever you decide to do.
