Hello all
I used to use Sky in my old flat which I was sharing and over there the router was sr203 which allows you to port forward and do a ddns for the ip.
I have a remote machine which needed to be connected from local wifi always while I am traveling for work, it used to work on sr203 router
Now I shifted my place and got sky connection and got a sr213 router I heard it doesnt have the facility to do the same?
Will I be able to achieve this or should I go for a dedicated router like XT8 to achieve it? I would think of either going for this or cancelling before the cool off period and get an alternate provider
Also will using an old SR203 router work as a cheaper alternative? found some on amazon
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Port forwarding should work, but the Max Hub has no built-in DDNS support.

Got it but I assume it is required how often does the IP change?
Worst nightmare is Ip changes and I wont be remote anymore

The Sky Broadband Hub shouldn't be available from anywhere other than Sky as it's loaned hardware. Sky could presumably identify and prevent use of units obtained elsewhere but apparently doesn't do so.

I tried checking for a downgrade to sr203 but Sky said it cannot be offered
I did find a sr203 on amazon for like 40 quid may as well get and try not sure if its gonna work though dont want to spend a lot on Xt8
