Received a ‘we’re sorry your leaving Sky’ email
I received this email today that another broadband service provider has initiated a transfer of my broadband service. But this did not come from m! I called Sky and they confirmed they have stopped it (but I am yet to receive an email confirming this, they told me I would receive one, but haven't yet).. Sky told me sometimes it could be an error from the other service provider or wrong house number has been used. I mean a huge corporation such as Sky doesn't have effective controls to mitigate an 'error' of this magnitude? Why not implement a secondary control to match names rather than just blindly go ahead and initiate a deactivation of a service without account holder consent? I am shocked this could happen. Now I have to waste my time to make sue my broadband doesn't get deactivated. Such a waste of everyone's time. Incompetence at its best. Sky, pls send me that email confirming my deactivation will not go ahead! I want to retain my broadband. Seriously, not impressed.

@Realdude29
You aren’t communicating with Sky by posting on here. This is a customer ➡️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other Sky customers.
This pops up from time to time. You will need to call Sky again.
NOTE: I only provide help on the forum boards so Direct Messaging is switched off

Re: Received a ‘we’re sorry your leaving Sky’ email
@Realdude29 E-mail will not be an instant from sky, the other ISP has to respond to the sky Refusal to release and change the deactivate status from the request, sometimes that also goes way wrong, so you are best to keep on top off it, may be worth having a look on your My Messages section to see if anything is logged to your account!
