Re: Alternative to Sky Broadband with Sky TV
It could be overnight maintenance taking place.
If it still down later then the first thing to check is this link to see if there are any outages in your area:
https://www.sky.com/servicechecker
If there isn't try running the line test here:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start
You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.
After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

Re: Alternative to Sky Broadband with Sky TV
It's not the internet, it's the Q doing its overnight cycle. Your laptop is probably connected to its mesh.

Re: Alternative to Sky Broadband with Sky TV
Yeah, the Q box cycles itself every night
Try turning off the "use sky boxes to extend your network" option - I think it's in the installer menu.

Re: Alternative to Sky Broadband with Sky TV
@john771092 simething is wrong to lose internet connectivity every night for months as maintenance only happens occasionally for maybe a week or so at most. It does not sound like Q boxes turning off their wifi hotspots in eco standby as thst is timed for 2.30 am to 5.45am. I assume you have excluded timers erc in your property so I would call Sky but it is difficult to know what it could be. One possibility is if your's is a partial fibre connection is the cabinet resetting but thst only takes a minute or so and shouldn't happen every night. Full fibre is not affected by that.

Re: Alternative to Sky Broadband with Sky TV
All lights are off? Ok that is very odd.
(you don't have to have the Q box on to be using its mesh but given the above, this seems likely to be weird behaviour by the router.
