Re: All i want to do is book an engineer, Sky Customer line is useless and i am sick of calling them

All Sky technical lines are now closed for training. I spoke to two great guys for an hour each to try and trouble shoot, thought all was ok but now worse than ever. Called the tech helpline again and cant get through to book engineer as lines are closed for training. The messenger option is not working.

I am also not working as I have no broadband and Sky has noone available to help me.

How can I book an engineer please? Why is this so painful?

BTW the sales lines are still open. Bless the lovely lady who tried to sell me quicker broadband for 50p p/m more. I politely thanked her and said I'd be happy enough for the service I'm currently paying for to work.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks!

@SaraP   First thing to check is this link to see if there are any outages in your area:

https://www.sky.com/servicechecker

If there isn't try running the line test here:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

@SaraP

The training rarely lasts for more than an hour or so.

Additionally Sky broadband being discussed here is a domestic service and whilst it's fine for those customers working from home to use it, they won’t receive additional or quicker support.

Re: All i want to do is book an engineer, Sky Customer line is useless and i am sick of calling them

Hi,

Thank you for your response,  it is greatly appreciated.

I established through the tech team that the problem is internal not external.

When i follow the link it still won't let me book an engineer.

I can't believe a company like Sky could leave customers high and dry like this.

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.

I've been trying to call back since 1pm. Chris, one of the guys, said he was in Bulgaria which is 2 hours ahead so I reckon it'll be 5pm by there by the time the lines reopen?

@SaraP  Is the hub working?    If it's internal Sky won't send an engineer unless it's a fault up to & including the master socket or ONT (if full fibre).
