Got a new booster from Sky yesterday to replace my faulty one I had . I used to connect an Ethernet cable from my tv to the old booster but noticed there is not a connection on back of the new booster for this anymore . Anyone got any ideas why this is so? Tried on sky twitter feed twice but got no reply? Thanks

Quite possibly because whoever is manufacturing them for Sky has had problems sourcing an appropriate chipset due to the ongoing global silicon component shortage.

Or possibly they don't want a third party box, like say, Amazon cube connecting to it?

Strange no Ethernet connection on this one. Never heard that before...

Yes and a minor variation of no Ethernet connection as well

I used mine connected via Ethernet cable to my smart tv or Amazon fire cube. Gave a better and more stable Wi-Fi connection at the time

Find out moreLike I said, Sky might be prepared to swap the booster they sent for a different one, but it would be more by luck if you received a replacement with an ethernet port: presumably all the new units are the same, while you'd want a refurbished one from a previous batch.

This is certainly not the reason, it is in Sky's interest to let you connect devices via ethernet because it reduces the amount of support calls they'd get for WiFi related problems.
Its down to chip & manufacturing shortages.

I was ble to connect the fire cube from Amazon easily and connection is stable again so no real need for Ethernet . Seems better to be truthful/
