Q box disconnecting from router on ethernet
My setup is ethernet from the Sky fibre router to a network switch, which connects the Q box, TV, and other items by ethernet.
Every couple of days give or take, the Q box disconnects. (Note wifi on Q box disabled). The only way of restoring it is to switch Q box off and on. Even network reset won't work. No other devices on the switch have problems - I stream Netflix and Prime through the TV apps with no issue. And even if there was a momentary drop I don't know why it wouldn't reconnect.
HOWEVER - the strange thing is that if I connect the Q box directly to the router with a cable across the room, it's fine, no drop-outs. I have replaced the switch thinking it was that, and the patch cable, but no change.
Any ideas?

Re: Q box disconnecting from router on ethernet
What variety of switch is it? Historically Q hasn't played nicely with managed network hardware.

Re: Q box disconnecting from router on ethernet
Both simple 8 port switches, old one Netgear, replacement TP link.

Re: Q box disconnecting from router on ethernet
Sky Q has been known for causing network storms/collision packets when connected via hardware like a switch. Although its not exactly the same as your issue it could well explain it
