Hi,
was installing a new fence to the front of my property today and have a gut sinking feeling I may have damaged the cable that runs into my property as I now seem to have no Wi-Fi. I don't have a home phone so can't make a call to check this. I if the cable is damaged from excavating to install a fence post, how long could this take to get sorted? Additionally would there be a cost for the repair for this? May be something else but very coincidental. Thanks.

You should be able to run a broadband line test whilst connected to a mobile 4G/5G network with the Sky App whilst logged into your Sky account. This should be able to identify whether there is a fault with the line and allow you to book an engineer to investigate the issue.

Most repairs can take place in around 5 working days but could be longer is Openreach have an issue getting to the cable. The T&Cs state you would be charged for the repair since you damaged the cable yourself but whether Openreach or Sky would enforce this is down to their discretion
