Position of optical network terminal box
Hi All
I'm getting full fibre installed this coming week. The OpenReach box has been installed at the rear of my house by the kitchen, but the current internal router is at the front of the house in the living room.
Will the engineer on installation day be able to run a fibre cable through the house to the living room? Or even better, run a fibre cable around to the front of the property and use the existing wall hole for the copper cable.

Re: Position of optical network terminal box
@JoeP11 Were you not there when they put the outside box on the wall? You can only ask on the day per the installer, but ideally if your hub is working well where it is now you want to keep it there! Two power points needed, one for the new Fibre ONT and one for the sky Hub, short sky cable supplied 1 to 2M length but you need longer then it's get one yourself to use.

Re: Position of optical network terminal box
@JimM1 Thanks for the reply.
No one was in when the outside box was installed. We only found out because our bin was misplaced. The only installation text I've received was about the inside, scheduled for this coming Monday. The wall with the outside box has a kitchen with tiled walls and a bedroom, neither of which is suitable for drilling through.
I'll speak with the engineer when he arrives to see what options I have.
